It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year…

i have an absolute love affair with college football. i simply cannot get enough of ESPN radio breaking down the games and rankings and Jeff Cameron’s brutal honesty about the state of Florida State football, or gathering around on a saturday night to watch the game of the week, then watch all the highlights as if i haven’t seen them yet. it may be because i grew up in tallahassee and florida state football WAS and IS the single most important thing the city does. it’s more than just that though, it’s the passion and the tradition you see at every stadium across the nation. it’s that every game counts, (which by the way makes me nervous about a playoff system), no other sport is like that. most people don’t start watching basketball or baseball until the playoffs start and some only watch pro football because of fantasy football. this got me thinking…what would happen if we were to live our lives like college football players live for their games, with an unshakeable urgency for fear of the alternative outcome? would we not be more inclined about telling people about christ? would we be as passive about the health of our own relationship with christ? i know i could probably benefit from this mindset. what about you? on another note, last night’s rehearsal at church was great. i really feel like we are growing together spiritually and musically. people are sharing their hearts and needs no matter how big or small and that’s an encouraging sign to me as a leader praying for a community of people who care and pray for one another first and foremost and lead worship together secondly. so thanks to the team, i appreciate all of your hard work and service. anyways, as i promised here are my college football predictions. finish reading at www.adamchill.com.
